Damnacanthal inhibits the NF-κB/RIP-2/caspase-1 signal pathway by inhibiting p56lck tyrosine kinase.
Kim MH, Jeong HJ.

Damnacanthal, a major constituent of noni, inhibited systemic anaphylactic shock, histamine release and intracellular calcium levels. Ingestion of damnacanthal significantly reduced IgE-mediated passive cutaneous anaphylaxis.  This action appears to involve inhibition of p56lck tyrosine kinase and the subsequent NF-κB/receptor-interacting protein-2/caspase-1 signal pathway.
